Arthur F. Peters

Arthur Peters, Jr., 81 of Laurel, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012 at his residence in Laurel.
He was born at home in Hamilton, Ohio, one of seven children to Arthur and Nannie Elizabeth (Huff) Peters.
He served with the US Army during the Korean War though he was stationed in Europe at the time.
On August 15, 1953, he was married to Edith Faye Goodman in Hamilton, Ohio; they moved to the Laurel area in 1961 for residence and subsequently operated the family farm – Mrs. Peters survives.
A faithful member for many years of First Baptist Church of Laurel, he was also a Laurel Township Trustee; he was employed as a die setter with Fisher Body in Hamilton, Ohio and a proud member of the United Auto Workers from January 1949 until his retirement in 1982.
Besides his beloved wife of fifty-nine years, he is survived by eight children, Victoria Lynn Wilson and her husband Perry of Metamora, Indiana, Randall Lee Peters and his wife Sandy of Claremore, Oklahoma, James Arthur Peters and his wife Roxanne of Safford, Arizona, Elizabeth Ann Lewis and her fiancé Carl Ford of Lakeview, Indiana, Joseph Andrew Peters and his wife Lynn and Jonathan Ray Peters and fiancé Teresa Sizemore, both of Laurel, Jillian Kay Isaac and her husband Jason of Connersville, Indiana and Rebecca Faye Vail and her husband Eddie of Rushville, Indiana, twenty-two grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and three siblings, Christine Reyes of Apple Valley, California, Geraldine Peters and Emma Sue Peters, both of West Liberty, Kentucky; he was also blessed with a host of nephews, nieces and cousins he was most fond of.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Mark Allan Peters (who died December 2, 1970), three siblings, Evelyn Woolery and William and Ray Peters, a son-in-law, Douglas Lewis, a brother-in-law, Rudy Reyes, and a sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Peters.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, November 16, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Laurel, Pastor Dave Jordan, officiating; burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Hamilton, Ohio; family and friends may call at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home from 4 to 8 PM Thursday and from 10 AM until the time of the service at the church.
