He was born in Noblesville, Indiana August 6, 1952 son of the late Merle and Margret Newkirk (Newman) and lived in Hamilton Oh. Gail served in the US Army in Vietnam where he met and married his wife, Buaphan “On” Wuthrakna, on March 14, 1972. After a stint with the National Guard, he was employed at Fernald and then Procter & Gamble where he retired after 22 years. He was an avid Nascar fan and rarely missed a race. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, On Newkirk; son, Jahk (Renae) Newkirk; daughter, Dee Newkirk; grandchildren, Chabre Tucker, Tyrese Cunningham, Aaron Newkirk, and Andrew Newkirk; brother, Walt (Shirley) Newkirk; sister, Geraldine (John) Kelley; nephew, Larry Newkirk and many other relatives and friends. Gail was a very loving and generous husband, father, grandfather and friend, and above all held his family to be very important.
Funeral Information
A visitation will be held at Ivey Funeral Home at Rose Hill Burial Park, 2565 Princeton Road in Hamilton, on Friday, February 17, 2012 from 11am to 1pm, followed by a service at 1pm.
