Mabel L. McWhorter age 83, of Hamilton, died Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Huntington Court. She was born September 17, 1928 in Hamilton the daughter of Campbell and Callie (Estes) Briscoe. She married Ralph McWhorter on October 20, 1944 in Covington, Kentucky and he preceded her in death. She was a member of Hamilton West Baptist Church and a member of Baptist Buckeye Builders, past Sunday School Teacher, Volunteer for Mission Projects in Hamilton and volunteered at Fort Hamilton Hospital. She is survived by a daughter, Sherry Kross and husband Karl of Malabar, Florida; a son, Ralph Edward McWhorter and wife Diane of Hypoluxo, Florida; two sisters, Mary “Geneva” Wright of Chatham, Virginia and Pauline Minnielli of Hamilton; four grandchildren, Becky Brockman and husband Ken of Hamilton, Terry Davidson and wife Shawn of Onieda, Kentucky, Shelly Byington and husband Ed of Liberty Township and Melissa Burton of Malabar, Florida; ten great grandchildren, Tyler Leeds, Terry Tyler Davidson, Timothy Davidson, Bryce Leeds, Eddie Byington, Audrey Byington, Chloe Burton, Connor Burton, Vanessa Berter, Sarah McCord and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Galen Briscoe. Funeral services will be Friday, February 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Hamilton West Baptist Church, 1050 NW Washington Blvd., Hamilton, Ohio with the Rev. David Williams officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. The family wishes to give a special thanks to the staff of Huntington Court and Destiny Hospice for their loving care. |
