Glen D. Acuff, age 87, of Hamilton, died Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Hospice of Hamilton. He was born on August 27, 1924 in Powell, Tennessee the son of Ewing and Beulah (Russell) Acuff. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. He married Ruby Hardwick on October 9, 1947. He was employed by Butler County Tire Company and Hamilton Tool. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for over 50 years. He is survived by his wife, Ruby; a daughter, Ruthann Benge (Denny) of Stow, Ohio; a son, Glen D. Acuff, Jr.( Priscilla) of Kettering, Ohio; brothers, Garrett Acuff of Idaho; Gale Acuff of Florida; sisters, Opal Hurst of Tennessee and Mary King of Seven Mile; four grandchildren, Nathan Acuff, Joseph Benge, Jason Benge and Deborah Rinella; five great grandchildren, and his extended foster family; Joyce Mehl (James), James Owens (Teresa), Kevin Owens (Dawn), Steve Owens (Karen) and their children and grand children. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, George and foster daughter Merle Stottler. Funeral services will be Monday, February 13, at 10:00 a.m. at Weigel Funeral Home, 980 NW Washington Blvd., Hamilton with Pastor Rick Rhodus officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Mausoleum. Visitation will be Sunday, February 12, from 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
