Edwin L. McCracken age 82 of West Chester passed away Thursday January 26, 2012 at Mercy Hospital of Fairfield. He was born November 20, 1929 in Cincinnati the son of the late Alton and Emma (Fishvogt) McCracken. Mr. McCracken was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War. On March 6, 1964 he married Judith Diss. He worked as a butcher for many years, most recently at the Hamilton Provision Company. Mr. McCracken was a member of Community Christian Church where he had served as a Sunday school teacher. He was an avid golfer who played three times a week. He is survived by his wife, Judith McCracken; his children, Patrick McCracken, Michael (Tammy) McCracken, Kelly (Cindy) McCracken, Sherry (Bill) Toben, Eddie (Sherry) McCracken, and Faye (Tim) Verquer; 25 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; his siblings, Muriel Morse, Nadine Bellini, and Kendall McCracken. Mr. McCracken was also preceded in death by his son, Brian McCracken and his sister, Margie Wortman. Visitation at THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 3080 Homeward Way at Rt. 4, Fairfield on Monday January 30, 2012 from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 PM, with Rev. Randy Adams, officiating. Burial to follow with full military honors in Rose Hill Burial Park.
